Government Degree College Jahangirabad Bulandshahr is a Co-Educational Institute which was established in 1997 by U.P. Govt. Higher Education Department to impart higher education with minimum fee structure for poor and weaker section of society. Predominantly to boys and girls who aspire for higher education but cannot afford due to their weak economic and social background as it is situated by holy Ganga river in Bulandshahr District. It was inaugurated by the then Higher Education Minister Shri Omprakash Singh on 16-10-2000 in mainn Building.
Established in year 1997 since then the Government Degree College has been constantly growing in size and structure Initially started with Arts Faculty which has seven Departments ie. ( Sociology, Hindi, Sanskrit Economics, Geography, English and Political Science). Physical Education Department was later included in the list of faculties. The Department of Sanskrit of the College has Ph.D. Research Centre since June 2017.
